These are three fairly excellent ones I read over vacation.
Unorthodox: My Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots, by Deborah Feldman - very, very interesting. I think most people know of/about the Hasidic sects in Brooklyn (the woman have to shave their heads and wear wigs, the earlocks, etc) but obviously this is pretty eye-opening. ( Read more... ) -
